    The Smoky Mountain Astronomical Society (SMAS) is an Astronomical League-affiliated club for astronomy enthusiasts in the East Tennessee area. SMAS provides monthly meetings at Pellissippi State Technical Community College in Knoxville, star parties at several locations, and a members-only Yahoo group. SMAS also has several loaner scopes for members including a 10-inch dobsonian, a 127mm Burgess Optical achromatic refractor with an LXD55 mount, and our newly refurbished 20-inch Dobsonian we term "Sasquatch."

The SMAS star party scheduled for July 17th at Look Rock has been cancelled due to the poor weather forecast. Please consider TAO as an alternative as a classroom is available there in the case of inclement weather.
